چکیده

Content-based Publish/Subscribe systems allow information consumers to choose the information based on the content of events. In order to optimize network (for example the network traffic, load balancing and throughput), subscription partition and routing have been used. In this paper, proposes two approaches to achieve this goal. The first one is Event Space Partitioning(ESP) means partitioning the event space and the other one is Filter Set Partitioning(FSP) based on partitioning the subscription set.

Sub-2-Sub: Self-Organizing Content-Based Publish Subscribe for Dynamic Large Scale Collaborative Networks

In this paper, we address the problem of constructing scalable content-based publish/subscribe systems. Publish/subscribe systems are asynchronous event-notification systems in which a published event is forwarded to exactly those nodes that have previously subscribed for that event. Subscriptions can range from a simple specification of merely the type of an event to a specification of the val...

Efficient Subscription Management in Content-based Networks

Content-based publish/subscribe systems offer a convenient abstraction for data producer and consumers, as most of the complexity related to addressing and routing is encapsulated within the network infrastructure. A major challenge of content-based networks is their ability to efficiently cope with changes in consumer membership. In our XNET XML content network, we have addressed this issue by...

Subscription Propagation and Content-Based Routing with Delivery Guarantees

Subscription propagation enables efficient content-based routing in publish/subscribe systems and is a challenging problem when it is required to support reliable delivery in networks with redundant routes. We have designed a generic model and a highly-asynchronous algorithm accomplishing these goals. Existing algorithms can be interpreted as different encodings and optimizations of the generic...

The PADRES Distributed Publish/Subscribe System

Workflow management systems are traditionally centralized, creating a single point of failure and a scalability bottleneck. In collaboration with Cybermation, Inc., we have developed a content-based publish/subscribe platform, called PADRES, which is a distributed middleware platform with features inspired by the requirements of workflow management and business process execution. These features...

Subscription Tree Pruning: A Structure-Independent Routing Optimization for General-Purpose Publish/Subscribe Systems

A main challenge in distributed publish/subscribe systems is the efficient and scalable routing of incoming information (event messages). For largescale publish/subscribe services, subscription forwarding has been established as a prevalent routing scheme. It reduces the network traffic for event routing due to selectively forwarding event messages to relevant parts of the network only. To furt...
